Mamluk Rugs: Mamluk rug originally comes from the Egyptian Empire and is estimated to have been knotted for the first time in the 14th century. These very beautiful silk rugs have also been made in Afghanistan for a long time. Characteristic is their very high quality and the typical Mamluk medallion in the center of the rug.
Afghan Rugs: Carpets and kilims have a long tradition in Afghanistan. In contrast to Persian carpets, Afghan carpets usually have geometric patterns and calmer colours. The knotting of the carpets is firm and flat-pile.
Virgin wool pile: A rug made of real virgin wool makes any interior style more cozy. The virgin wool itself has a very pleasant soft feel and also helps to dampen the sound and regulate the humidity in the room. Due to these properties, the well being with a rug made of genuine new wool increases directly noticeable.
Cotton chain: Cotton is an excellent warp (base fabric) for a genuine hand-knotted rug, as it is hard-wearing and at the same time can be spun fine and close-meshed.
Hand knotted quality: Hand-knotted rugs are true works of art and, depending on the quality, require very good training and a high degree of patience. Knotting by hand makes the rugs much finer, smoother and higher quality than with other methods.
